About the Author

Dr. Bee G. Gwynn, 81 years old, is a retired Pediatrician. After retirement, she moved with her husband to the coast of North Carolina where she became enchanted with all life related to the ocean. Towing from her kayak, she collected and studied plankton. She volunteered with the North Carolina Aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores and took courses at Duke Marine Lab in Beaufort. She did microscopic work at the NOAA lab in Beaufort.

Now Gwynn does volunteer work at the Animal Adoption Center of the Humane Society of Davie County, North Carolina. She had visited the Leaky dig in Tanzania on safari and studied life in the Sea of Cortez. She raises cacti while her husband raises orchids at their home in Piedmont, North Carolina.
